Out west where the wild rivers race,

I found myself in a mossy place.

With dishes in hand and the current loud,

The forest around me stood strong and proud.

It looked like a rainforest, soaked and wide,

With trees that leaned from side to side.

The moss clung thick to each broken stem—

Creation’s green cathedral hymn.

[Verse 1]

I stood on rocks in the roaring stream,

The air was crisp, like a waking dream.

I wished for wildlife, bold and near—

A sign that the Lord was truly here.

[Verse 2]

I fixed my eyes on a distant bend,

And whispered softly, like to a friend:

“Lord, could You send a grizzly bear—

Right at that spot, to show You care?”

[Chorus]

And out He stepped without delay,

A massive grizzly in full display!

The river hushed in that sacred beat—

As Heaven and earth in wonder meet.

The bear walked slow along the shore,

A moment made for something more.

He paused as if he too had heard

A whispered prayer, a faithful word.

The Lord, He listens—yes, He sees,

From mountain heights to trembling knees.

Jesus knows each thought we send,

And sometimes answers just like a friend.

So when you’re out in the wild unknown,

And feel like you’re out there all alone—

Remember this by river’s side:

The Lord walks near, arms open wide.
